• Mr. Konowiecki was managing and strategic partner at K&R (previously
Konowiecki & Rank.) He led the firm into becoming 50 + lawyers
and his areas of practice included health care, M&A, corporate,
securities, and general business. He has extensive M&A experience
including having lead multiple acquisitions and sales in healthcare
such as FHP, AMS and Pacificare. Mr. Konowiecki also has a deep understanding
of the health industry regulatory environment both at the state and
federal levels. As General Counsel and Executive Vice President for
PacifiCare Health Systems, Inc., one of the nation's largest consumer
health organizations, he was instrumental in closing its $9.2 billion
sale to United Health Group in less than six months.
• Mr. Konowiecki has led some of the largest healthcare public offerings
and mergers in the country and successfully argued before the U.S.
Supreme Court in the case of PacifiCare Health Systems vs. Book, leading
to a favorable, unanimous decision by the high court.
• Mr. Konowiecki has been an investor and trusted advisor to several
market-leading companies including PriceGrabber.com, Digital Interactive,
Media Technologies and United States Football Club. Mr. Konowiecki
also has wide experience in early stage financing including PriceGrabber.com,
Digital Interactive and U.S.F.C. (United States Football Club).
• Mr. Konowiecki serves on various non-profit boards, most recently
the Healthcare Advisory Board for RAND.
Mr. Konowiecki is a graduate of U.C.L.A.
and holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the UC Hastings College of
